PRESENTIAL
MAREA is a work that is built around the concept and figure of water. This fundamental element for life, from the territory we inhabit to the interior of our body: mobilizes us, finds us and moves us.
From a personal and at the same time collective instance, the piece seeks to sensitize and highlight the current problem around plastic and the pollution of our rivers, lakes and seas.
April 29th marks the International Dance Day and we will celebrate this instance with the revival of this work MAREA, created by the performers of the contemporary dance and social integration program, You can dance version 2021, which takes place at Teatro del Lago thanks to the support of Fundación Mustakis, based on an emotional, physical and spatial investigation by the outstanding Chilean choreographer, Eduardo Zúñiga.
A work carried out through online and face-to-face meetings, which seeks to move and expand towards different territories, diversifying the points of view, corporalities and emotions around the subject.
Water is in constant movement, it has cycles and unique properties. Water allows us to live and inhabit, it asks us questions and its changes affect us at all levels.
MAREA seeks to bring this reflection and sensory approach to viewers, making them aware of the processes that affect us today and unite us as living inhabitants of the water.
