Under the masterful orchestral direction of maestro Rodolfo Fischer, and the solo voices of soprano Andrea Aguilar, mezzo-soprano Evelyn Ramírez, tenor Patricio Saxton and baritone Patricio Sabaté, the Teatro del Lago’s main stage will be taken over to deliver the vocal beauty of the captivating repertoire of Mozartian sacred jubilation, accompanied by the Choir and Camerata of the Teatro del Lago School of the Arts under the choral direction of Margot Parés-Reyna and Jessica Rivas.

Rodolfo Fischer 

Holds a degree with honours from the Faculty of Arts at Universidad de Chile and is the recipient of several scholarships. He studied in New York with pianist Richard Goode. Afterwards, he entered the prestigious Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia as a student of orchestral conducting with Professor Otto Werner Müller, completing his studies in 1993.

He began his career at the San Francisco Opera Centre.  In 1998 he was appointed resident director of the Teatro Municipal de Santiago, a role he held jointly with the incumbent Gabor Otvös until 2002. His work in the field of opera has been highly appreciated, having directed over 20 works in the international and national seasons of the Teatro Municipal de Santiago, including performances in several Chilean cities.

In 2006 he made his debut at the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, in charge of Cosi fan tutte, and at the Danish National Opera, in charge of The Marriage of Figaro, earning a prominent place as a Mozartian conductor. Since then he has had an important role in Latin America, conducting the main ensembles of the continent, such as the Sao Paulo State Symphony Orchestra, the Buenos Aires Philharmonic Orchestra, the Minas Gerais Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orquesta Estable de La Plata, the Santiago Philharmonic Orchestra, the National Symphony Orchestra of Bogotá and many others. As guest conductor in Europe and Oceania, he has conducted important international orchestras such as the Copenhagen Philharmonic (Denmark), Odense Symphony Orchestra (Denmark), Dortmunder Filarmoniker (Germany), Principality of Asturias (Spain), Bari Symphony Orchestra (Italy), Basler Sinfonieorchester, Luzerner Sinfonieorchester (Switzerland), Auckland Philharmonia (New Zealand), Danubia Orchestra (Hungary), among others.

He debuted in 2008 at the Teatro Municipal de Sao Paulo with a successful production of the opera Falstaff.  In 2010 he had the honour of being invited by the Teatro Argentino de La Plata to conduct the Gala Bicentenaria in charge of the Latin American premiere of Ainadamar, an opera by Osvaldo Golijov. Among the works he has directed are: Il Mondo della Luna (2011, Buenos Aires), Idomeneo (2012, Sao Paulo), Don Giovanni (2012, Santiago), Ainadamar (2012, Bogotá), Jenufa (2013, Buenos Aires), Anna Bolena (2014, Buenos Aires), Ainadamar/Un Homen So (2015, Sao Paulo), Jenufa (2016, Rio de Janeiro), Falstaff (2017, Bogotá), Cinderella (2018, Santiago), Madame Butterfly (2019, Bogotá) and Patagonia (2022, Teatro del Lago, Frutillar).

In 2020 he was appointed music director of the Chamber Orchestra of Valdivia in Chile, dedicating his time between the orchestra and his classes in orchestral conducting at the Musik-Akademie in Basel, Switzerland. Moreover, he has been complementing his role as guest conductor with a growing pedagogical work training numerous youth orchestra conductors with the support of the FOJI foundation in Chile, the Universidad Alberto Hurtado, as well as regular masterclasses in Basel, Zürich, Leipzig, Malaga, Bogotá and numerous cities in Chile.

Margot Pares Reyna

Soprano venezolana, realizó sus estudios vocales con Herta Glaz en Los Ángeles, donde obtuvo su Maestría en Música con honores (University of Southern California) y con Schuyler Hamilton en París. En los últimos treinta y cinco años desarrolló una importante carrera que incluye su participación en festivales internacionales, así como un largo recorrido de algunas de las más importantes casas de ópera de Francia, Bélgica y Suiza. En Venezuela su presencia ha sido constante gracias a sus numerosas presentaciones en más de veinte temporadas del Teatro Teresa Carreño, así como recitales y conciertos con todas las principales orquestas del país. A la par de sus actividades líricas y por invitación del maestro José Antonio Abreu, desarrolló una intensa labor docente como directora de canto lírico de El Sistema de Orquestas en Venezuela. Formó vocalmente a la Coral Nacional Simón Bolívar, brindándole a sus integrantes las herramientas vocales que les permitió presentarse con gran éxito en escenarios de la talla del Festival de Salzburgo, Royal Festival Hall, Lincoln Center, Kennedy Center y la Scala de Milán. Desde 2004 a 2012 dictó más de treinta talleres de canto para la CAF (Corporación Andina de Fomento) para su programa vocal Música para Crecer, en Argentina, Bolivia, Brasil, Colombia, Ecuador, Panamá, Paraguay, Perú, y Uruguay. En enero de 2019 fue contratada por el PNUD (Programa de las Naciones Unidas para el Desarrollo) para desarrollar el movimiento vocal de La Red en Panamá, y desde febrero de 2022 es profesora de canto para la Escuela de las Artes del Teatro del Lago en Chile.

Jessica Rivas

This Chilean soprano is also a guitarist and music teacher. She began her instruction in lyrical singing with Florencia Centurión, at the Universidad Metropolitana de Ciencias de la Educación. Her vocal training has been developed under the guidance of renowned national teachers such as Pedro Pablo Prudencio, Viviana Hernández, Mariana Ossandón, and international teachers such as Margreet Hönig and the Dutch Paul Triepels. Currently, she continues her vocal training with the outstanding Venezuelan soprano Margot Parés-Reyna, internationally renowned and teacher at the Teatro del Lago School of the Arts.

As a singer, she has been part of prestigious professional singing groups in Chile, such as the Chamber Choir of the UAH under the direction of Guido Minoletti and Paula Torres, the Madrigalist Choir of the USACH, directed by Rodrigo Díaz and the Ensemble Vocal Concerto Vocale, directed by Víctor Alarcón.

As a soprano soloist, she has performed roles in the operas The Magic Flute (Mozart), Dido and Aeneas (Purcell), The Rape of Lucretia (Britten), Madame Butterfly (Puccini) and La Traviata (Verdi), presenting at the Teatro Municipal de Santiago, Teatro Municipal de Las Condes, among others. She has also performed in works such as Requiem (Mozart), Klopstocks Morgengesang am Schöpgungsfeste (C.P.E. Bach) and Passio (Arvo Pärt).

She currently teaches at the Teatro del Lago School of the Arts, where she has also performed as a soloist in various productions, such as Música de Películas with the Teatro del Lago Ensemble, Eduvida Voz and Cantata de los Oficios, by the national conductor and composer Sebastián Errázuriz, as part of the final concert of the programme Puedes Cantar, Chamber Choir of Teatro del Lago

Teatro del Lago Ensemble

Since 2014, Teatro del Lago has had a resident ensemble composed of musicians Nicolás Faunes (flute), Tania Donoso (violin) and Pablo Silva (cello).

Over these years, the Ensemble has played a crucial role in the educational mission it promotes, becoming a strong link between artists and students.

Its members, in addition to performing pieces from both classical and popular music on the stages of Teatro del Lago and others, dedicate a significant part of their time to the artistic training of children and young people who seek to progress in musical arts.
