YOU CAN SING
This programme began eight years ago and was created by Teatro del Lago together with the Ibáñez Atkinson Foundation with the aim of strengthening choral groups by training choir directors and teachers at educational establishments in southern Chile.
It culminates with a wonderful and emotive choral meet-up in which the voices of children come together to premiere a piece they prepared with the help of their teachers using the tools provided in the training.

PROGRAMME
You Can Sing is an open access programme for the teaching community of the Los Ríos and Los Lagos Region.
In 2021, You Can Sing restarted its work of producing choral compositions with music by Adriá Barbosa and text by Carla Romero as the heart of the content, specially designed to be rehearsed and premiered in the context of the pandemic.
“The experience exceeded all my expectations, especially since there are few learning opportunities in this field.
I witnessed the passion of those in charge of the programme. Together we went over and refreshed concepts and shared experiences with other colleagues from different places and pedagogical contexts. Everyone made their personal contribution to execute the beautiful cantata of Adriá Barbosa: La Chamaniña y el Viejo Lobo de Mar”.
Carlos Piñeiro, music education teacher at the Carpe Diem School in Chiloé and participant in the You Can Sing 2019 programme.
