Teatro del Lago Ensemble

Teatro del Lago has had a resident ensemble since 2014. It consists of the musicians Nicolás Faunes (transverse flute), Tania Donoso (violin), and Pablo Silva (cello).

The Ensemble has held a crucial role in the Theatre’s educational mission, forging a strong tie between artists and students.

In addition to interpreting both classical and popular music on the Teatro del Lago stage and elsewhere, its members dedicate a significant portion of their time to the artistic training of children and youth who seek to develop their abilities in the musical arts.

Nicolás Faunes
Traverse flute

Began his music studies at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, obtaining the degree in 1999 and the title of interpreter in traverse flute in 2001 with maximum distinction.
Then, thanks to scholarships from the French and Chilean governments, continued his training between 2005 and 2011 at the École Normale de Musique de Paris «AlfredCortot» obtaining the superior diplomas in traverse flute, instrumental teaching and chamber music, in the classes of Pierre-Yves Artaud, Devy Erlih, and Nina Patarcec.
He has performed concerts with various groups in France, Argentina, Bolivia, Ecuador, Mexico, Uruguay, Peru and throughout Chile.
Former member of L’Orchestre de Flûtes Français, he has premiered works by composers such as Jindrich Feld, Doina Rotaru and Yoko Kubo, among others; On stage he had performed with Andras Adorjan, Clara Novakova and Chryssi Dimitriou.
He has recorded 9 albums and has collaborated on several others.

Tania Donoso
Violin

Chilean violinist, degree in Interpretation Musical at the Universidad de Chile, under the Chair of Professor Héctor Viveros. In the year 2017 he completed his post-graduate studies at the Higher School of Music and Performing Arts of Frankfurt am Main, in Germany, under the chair of Professor Markus Däunert.
In ChileShe has been a member of different ensembles such as National Youth Symphony Orchestra. In 2012 won first place in the music contest chamber music with accompanying piano, performed by the Faculty of Arts of the Universidad de Chile.
In 2013 and 2014 he received an invitation to be part of the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival, one of the most renowned festivals at the worldwide, giving concerts between July and August in Germany and Denmark, under the direction of Christoph Eschenbach, David Newmann, Kristof Urbanski, Semyon Byschlov, Lawrence Foster,among others. That same year she made a recording with noted violinist Ray Chen for the label Sony classical, Rendsburg, Germany. 
From 2018 to 2021 she has been a member of the Orchestra Mainz Philharmonic, Germany, and has collaborated as row attendant in the Opera Orchestra from Frankfurt.

Pablo Silva
Cello

He began his musical studies at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, obtaining the bachelor’s degree in 2011 and the title of senior performer in 2013 with maximum distinction.
He was awarded a scholarship by Lyra and Hindemith Foundation to improve in Switzerland in 2008, and then, thanks to scholarships from the Foundation of Youth and Children’s OrchestrasChile as well as the National Music Fund, between 2009 and 2011 he continued his training at the city ​​of Stuttgart, Germany. Among his teachers are Alejandro Tagle, Celso López, Edgar Fischer, David Chest and Martin Osten.
He also took courses and master classes with outstanding artists such as Yo-yo Ma, Miklós Perényi, Michael Sanderling, Natalie Clein, Tanja Tetzlaff, Troels Svane, Francis Gouton, Jean-Guihen Queyras, Conradin Brotbeck, Eduardo Vasallo, Laura Klügel, Pierre-Laurent Aimard, Jorge Pepi Alos, Edith Fischer, among others.He has shared the stage with prominent performers like Daniel Rohn, Pablo Ferrández, Gautier Capuçon, Gabriela Montero, Bruce Levingstone, among others. In recent years represented Chile in the international contest Dr. Luis Sigall in the city of Viña del Mar, Chile.
He is currently director of the instrumental area and professor at the Teatro del Lago School of the Arts.
