The first stone of Teatro del Lago was laid in the bay of Frutillar, on land donated by the municipality.
With construction work still ongoing, the first artistic and educational activities were launched, turning it into the center of our mission.
Teatro del Lago School of the Arts was inaugurated.

After 12 years of construction, Teatro del Lago was inaugurated and acknowledged as a Bicentennial Work of Chile.
Frutillar’s Sustainable Development Plan, PLADES, was created, which began operating as a foundation the following year.
The Teatro del Lago School of the Arts becomes the first institution in southern Chile to prepare students for international certification from the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) of London.

The educational program, Puedes Bailar, is launched in partnership with the Gabriel & Mary Mustakis Foundation.
The Teatro del Lago Ensemble is created and the program, Puedes Cantar, begins its activities in partnership with the Ibáñez Atkinson Foundation.
UNESCO declares Frutillar a Creative City of Music and Teatro del Lago becomes a nonprofit foundation.
The Musical Initiation Choir is created for children 4 to 6 years old at the Teatro del Lago School of the Arts.
